The life expectancy of the Wirehaired Pointed Griffon is estimated arount 10 to 12 years. Their care does call for some stripping and trimming of the coat for showing. Pet dogs look best if groomed professionally twice a year. The harsh coat needs to be combed and brushed once or twice a week. The ears should be cleaned and plucked of hair within the canal in order to avoid ear problems. If in doubt of how to perform this part of grooming be sure to ask your breeder or veterinarian to show you or refer you to a grooming facility familiar with the needs of this breed. The Griffon sheds little to no hair.
